It’s maple syrup time! The communities of The Big 400 are teaming up to celebrate maple syruping in southern Michigan with a festival Saturday, March 16. The festival includes pancake breakfasts, tours of tapping areas and the syruping process, the release of a local maple wine, and lots of good things to eat.

The Big 400

Big400 bike routes can be found within nature areas, around lakes, and between towns. No matter what type of path you're looking for or what difficulty level you want, there's a trail for you! A few even have a coordinating canoe route!

The Big 400

Bird Hills Nature Area's hilly woods are a sanctuary for hikers and skiers. There are five trailheads: at Down Up Circle, at Bird Rd, at Beechwood Dr, and two near the Newport Rd parking area. The unpaved trails wind through hills and ravines covered with beech, sugar maple, dogwood, oaks and hickory and various wildflowers.
